When Marisa Arredondo first set eyes on her Greenwich townhouse, she was captivated by its traditional stone and shingle exterior, designed by architect Anthony J. Tartaglia. The coffered ceilings, classical moldings, and stately stair tower instantly resonated with her love for refined details. However, the home’s interior—painted in dark, somber hues—didn’t reflect her vibrant and sophisticated style.

Determined to transform the space into a sanctuary of light, elegance, and creativity, she enlisted the expertise of interior designer Michelle Morgan Harrison, whose signature approach to “pretty” design perfectly aligned with Arredondo’s vision.

Infusing the Home with Softness and Shine

“There’s nothing wrong with things being pretty,” says Michelle Morgan Harrison, who brought in a palette of muted tones, soft textures, and refined metallic accents to create a sense of lightness and warmth.

The living room now features a custom Tibetan rug in ivory, blue, and lavender, while a baby-blue wing chair and tufted lounge chairs add a feminine, sophisticated charm. Silver elements—seen in the sofa pillows, silver-leafed furniture, and Lucite accents—enhance the home’s luminous appeal. A crystal chandelier by Aerin Lauder completes the room, adding just the right touch of glamour.

In the dining room, Arredondo and Morgan Harrison chose a custom Gracie wallpaper featuring delicate chinoiserie patterns of birds on branches, a nod to Arredondo’s childhood memories. True to her belief in positive energy, she carefully selected only lovebirds for the design.

The bedrooms exude serenity, with soft blush and lavender tones (Benjamin Moore’s Kitten Whiskers and Farrow & Ball’s Calluna) creating an atmosphere of rest and renewal.
